Laurent Couline was born in June 1972 in the small city of Liège in Belgium. Very early, he discovered a deep passion for movies and mega show-pieces. Laurent studied in Saint-Luc Institute from which he received his Graphic Designer degree and high distinction in 1994.

Even before ending his studies, he launches himself into the organization of events and thematic festivities, exibitions and music concerts. Within this framework he also creates the concepts, the sets and the costumes. He is noticed by Georges Dejardin, master wig-maker at l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie. In this period, Laurent creates a collection of fantastic sculptures for various shows. He decides to take the adventurous road of turning to cinema studios, which gets him to travel between London, Los Angeles and Montréal. Between 1996 and 2001, he runs a student internship with decisive encounters. Amongst others, he meets: Dick Smith, Rick Baker, Patrick Tatopoulos, and Igor Chevalier at Jim Henson’s Creature Shop (Dark Crystal, Labyrinth). Then, he works in Paris for movies and commecials with Chistophe Calcus.

In 2000, he is awarded the first price for : « Special Effect Makeup » at the Fantastic Film Festival of Brussels. From 2002 to 2004, he works on the tetralogy of Wagner « Der Ring » in collabortion withJean Louis Grinda, Christian Gasc and Eric Chevalier. He knows no restraints, exceeds all bounds and mixes the artistic techniques of shows and movie’s specials effects, transforming what he has learned in all schools in an amazingly efficient and high-quality result.

He collaborated with Luc Besson on his mega-production : Valerian, Franco Dragone in Las Vegas and Macau, Pascal Baillien in Los Angeles for several filming but also for Thierry Mugler and Beyoncé for the « I’am world tour » in 2009. He is asked as sculptor, props maker, make-up artist, set designer, costume designer and art director. Laurent Is contacted by famous artists and productions such: Le Moulin Rouge, Holiday On Ice, Sol En Cirque, Mine Barral Vergés, Pierre Annez, Frédérique Pineau, Jara Jorge, Roberto Rosello, Edwin Piekny, Elie Chouraqui, Giantito Bruchiellaro (Fellini), Alain Chabat, Roumen Tchakarov, Jean Pochoy , Julien Friedler et Claude Renard, Le Parc Astérix, Cie D’outre Rue, L’Opéra de Monte Carlo, L'Opéra de Lausanne, Dreamworks and Europacorp…
